Energise: Driving EV Adoption

Char.gy • 2019 • Service Designer

In 2019, as electric vehicles gained traction, charging infrastructure remained a key barrier to adoption. In collaboration with Char.gy and Unboxed, we explored how strategic EV infrastructure placement can accelerate adoption in urban communities.

Over 8 weeks, we conducted in-depth research, co-created solutions with stakeholders, tested user behaviors, and refined strategies to create and measure the local impact of Char.gy’s charging points in the Dulwich area, London.

The result was Energise—a platform designed to help non-EV drivers visualize their transition, evaluate its impact, and seamlessly request local charging infrastructure.

Our final strategic proposal was delivered to Char.gy and received positive feedback, providing key insights into user behavior, infrastructure demand, and engagement strategies. The research and strategic recommendations helped shape Char.gy’s approach to future deployments and community engagement efforts.
